Vacation Ready Fur Parka

I hope everyone’s been enjoying the holiday season! I kicked mine off with my friend Janna’s wedding in Tucson, AZ and then spent Christmas in Chicago with my family. Now I am back in NYC! (Bahamas next week haha). I had brunch with two of my best friends yesterday, Jeni and Janel, in Soho! It’s chilly but not too cold in NYC, which was the perfect opportunity for me to wear my new favorite fur-colored parka! It was the first time wearing it, and even a stranger lady on the street said to me “beautiful coat!” I love this coat for many reasons: It has a Patagonia down undercoat that can unzip from the outer coat, and the hood is also detachable, which makes it very versatile and functional! I kept the look chic and clean with white denim and gray leather booties.

This coat would be the perfect glamorous accessory for a cold destination vacation!

Chain Link Halter Top, White Jeans, & Espadrilles

Ahh, summer. White jeans, halter tops, and espadrilles: three of my favorite things! I love the big chunky plastic cream chain link halter on this top, and how it whimsically matches the preppy chain link print. I paired the look with my favorite white skinny jeans from last summer, and navy blue espadrilles that are so comfy. I love espadrilles. They scream “summer”! To complete the look, I wore $5 cat-eye sunglasses that I bought on Friday from a NYC street vendor.

Thanks to my pal, Nicky, for taking these pics!

Valentine’s Day: Blue Hearts & Pearl Booties

I can’t believe it is yet another Valentine’s Day! As a child, I loved to wear red and pink on this holiday. Today, I still like to stay in the festive spirit with whimsical heart prints. A few years ago (hard to believe) I styled the pink and red version of this heart print button-down on the blog. This year, I am styling the blue version! I paired it with a faux fur navy sweater, and white denim. Who says you can’t wear denim after Labor Day 😉

My favorite part of this whole look, however, are the pearl booties. They are Jeffrey Campbell and it took three orders to get the perfect size and style. However, I LOVE them. The gold in the heel complemented the gold buttons on the blouse nicely.  The heel is the perfect height, and the pearls add such a nice surprise detail in the back. I wore these with my friend, Nicky, into Jeffrey’s over the weekend, and the sales people were all squinting at my boots and asking if they were Chanel (HA!)

I am off to Copenhagen tonight. Happy Valentine’s Day, loves!

LulaRoe Classic Tee

There aren’t many more days left this summer where I can wear white jeans! This classic tee goes perfectly with the white denim, and it’s such an easy look. The tee is from LulaRoe and is so cozy and comfy! It’s also great for layering. I paired the pretty teal color with my favorite orange fringe necklace (trend alert…last summer ha!) I love the “yoga” vibes from the necklace. I completed the look with my favorite espadrille wedges.

Leather Jacket Weather

After a few unseasonably warm 70 degree days, NYC is back to being spring and chilly. Chaussures Adidas Yeezy 330 Boost This leather jacket is probably the nicest item of clothing I own (not including shoes!) I bought it last fall from Maje- one of my favorite designers of all time. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Acheter I was attracted to the motorcycle style, the gorgeous and unique shoulder stitching detail, and the soft lamb leather. However, it took two separate trips to the Bleecker Street store before I bit the bullet. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Pas Cher I am so glad that I did, it is an investment piece and a closet staple, and I have already gotten so much wear from it. Leather jackets are functional, too- great for fall and spring transitional weather. They are also great for traveling and flying, and I always get complements on it when I wear it. I paired this jacket with a black scarf, tortoiseshell sunnies I bought off the street last weekend, my favorite metallic bucket bag (another favorite designer piece), white skinny jeans, and edgy Rebecca Minkoff calf hair wedge booties that I treated myself to for my 27th birthday. When I was in college, skinny jeans were just becoming super trendy. It’s fun to watch fashion shift, as skinny jeans are still trendy but now at a higher ankle length than a few years ago.
