Fall Transition Look: Quilted Leather Skirt (Part 2)

The second part of this quilted faux leather skirt look is live! This time I made it more “school girl” by pairing it with a silk DVF blouse with a big black detachable pussy bow (trend alert!) and ankle length black lace up booties. I love a dramatic black and white look! I went with a low sleek ponytail, a dark berry lip by Stila, and dark nail polish (“Wicked” by Essie). It felt like a very fall shoot, in a few of my favorite West Village spots! I love looking at all of the West Village homes that have been decorated for Halloween.

Another Halloween inspired post to come! It will be a fun one…

Miami (Part 2): Two-Piece Lilly Pulitzer Crop-Top and Midi Skirt Set

One of my favorite trends for this summer is matching two-piece sets! They usually involve some flavor of a crop top, and a matching skirt. While this set at first glance appears to be a dress, it is actually a ruffled crop-top and skirt. I love the Lilly Pulitzer classic tropical colors- it was too perfect for Miami! Miami also has a certain glitz and glamour, so I paired the look with comfortable Jimmy Choo wedges (which I have owned for almost 10 years), as well as a dainty gold evil-eye necklace and a gold watch. I completed the look with a sun-kissed tan 😉

These photos were taken at Soho Beach House’s Italian restaurant Cecconi’s. It was pretty magical.

Leather Jacket Weather

After a few unseasonably warm 70 degree days, NYC is back to being spring and chilly. Chaussures Adidas Yeezy 330 Boost This leather jacket is probably the nicest item of clothing I own (not including shoes!) I bought it last fall from Maje- one of my favorite designers of all time. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Acheter I was attracted to the motorcycle style, the gorgeous and unique shoulder stitching detail, and the soft lamb leather. However, it took two separate trips to the Bleecker Street store before I bit the bullet. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Pas Cher I am so glad that I did, it is an investment piece and a closet staple, and I have already gotten so much wear from it. Leather jackets are functional, too- great for fall and spring transitional weather. They are also great for traveling and flying, and I always get complements on it when I wear it. I paired this jacket with a black scarf, tortoiseshell sunnies I bought off the street last weekend, my favorite metallic bucket bag (another favorite designer piece), white skinny jeans, and edgy Rebecca Minkoff calf hair wedge booties that I treated myself to for my 27th birthday. When I was in college, skinny jeans were just becoming super trendy. It’s fun to watch fashion shift, as skinny jeans are still trendy but now at a higher ankle length than a few years ago. Pink & Gold

Last week I attended the Glamour in the City benefit, hosted by one of my close friends from college. I’ve gone every June since moving to NYC, so now it’s pretty much a tradition! GlamourGals supports volunteers who provide ongoing companionship and complimentary beauty makeovers to women living in senior homes. The dress code for the event was…pink. I don’t own that much pink, but I have been waiting to wear the below wispy chiffon ABS by Allen Schwartz dress for quite some time now. The event provided the perfect opportunity to take the frock out on the town! I paired it with my new glittering gold Jimmy Choo wedges. These shoes are so comfortable, and surprisingly, pair well with a lot. Before C. Wonder closed its doors a few months ago, I scooped up some vintage-inspired jewelry. The delicate black and white earrings and bracelet in these pics looked pretty with the pink chiffon. I wore my hair down, but slightly tamed with a skinny black headband.

Thank goodness it’s summer! June is one of my favorite months.
