Floral Neon Sundress, Strappy Platform Sandals, Monogrammed Envelope Clutch

Happy September, everyone! It feels like fall in NYC today, so gorgeous out. I wore this neon floral print dress to a Girl’s Night on Thursday with my friends Jeni and Janel. It is SO bright- you can tell from the pictures, it’s not the lighting. I love the cut of this dress. The front looks like a halter top, which is great for showing off your shoulders, but that back is actually criss-cross (secured with a button, interesting). I paired this pink and white number with black accessories, a monogrammed clutch that was a gift from when I was a bridesmaid in my friend Katie’s wedding, and black platform strappy sandals from my friend Helene (a lot of friends in this post!)

These shoes remind me of a quote I recently heard, and agree with: “I just want to make enough money to afford impractical shoes” ūüėČ

Black Jumpsuit

This weekend I swapped¬†out all of my summer clothes and shoes in favor of my fall wardrobe. I was sad to say goodbye to my bright sundresses and sandals (summer is my favorite season to dress for!) but booties, capes, and cozy sweaters are making things a little bit easier. One piece that I have been meaning to wear all summer, which is a great transition piece into fall, is a black jumpsuit (romper). Black jumpsuits are a closet staple, as they transition easily between seasons and they can also be dressed up or down and used as a “canvas” for fun accessories.

For this West Village shoot, I wanted my hair and makeup to be as equally edgy as my romper and new yellow Jimmy Choo platform sandals. My close friend Alex did a smokey eye, nude lip, and an edgy braided and coiffed updo. Per usual, please contact me if you would like to book her for your next event. She is the queen.

Marigold & Blue

Happy Labor Day! I recently picked up this marigold and gold studded Trina Turk “Amelie” halter dress and I love it. It has clean lines, and the gold studding reminds me of fish skills, a pattern that I find particularly beautiful in beading work. I also like the interesting high-cut of the halter. The dress is not quite yellow, and it is not orange either. It really is a marigold, which is perfect for Labor Day as we transition into fall. Although I could have paired this dress with black shoes (or any more understated shoe), I loved the bright blue of these peep toe platforms, and the suede material was an interesting texture contrast with the silk and studded dress. Yes, these shoes are hard to walk in. They are so fun though! I love how the peep toe on them is barely-there.¬†All hair and makeup is done by my friend Alex. Please reach out if you want to book her, she is amazing at all things beauty and can work with different hair types.

This week marks the start of NY Fashion Week, and I have a few events I am attending that I am pretty excited about. Stay tuned!
