Royal Wedding in Windsor (Part 2): Scallops on Scallops on Scallops

I can’t believe that the Royal Wedding was 2 weeks ago already, and that it is now June! On the first day of the party, the ladies and I went on a barge down the Thames River. The attire theme was “nautical”, so I figured that you can’t go wrong with navy! I love anything that has scalloping trim (trend alert!) , so this mock halter bib neck dress seemed perfect. I kept the look preppy, and scalloped, by pairing the look with a scalloped monogrammed envelope clutch and scalloped black flats. To accessorize, I paired the look with classic aviators and jewelry from my new friend Anna’s “Anna K Collection”! You can shop this look from the links at the end of the post.

Camel Coat

I recently picked up this camel coat (trend alert!) from ZARA and am madly in love with it. Camel is one of my favorite neutrals for these colder months, and I love the sophisticated clean lines of it. I kept the look clean and chic with a thin black turtleneck (didn’t think I would own one past fourth grade!), my favorite black leggings, clear sunnies, and new silver and star-studded Crown sneakers. There are few things that I love more than a comfortable, chic sneaker. I loved the metallic on these ones, but I especially loved the little metal star stud detailing. There are no laces, so they are also super easy to slip into. This looks is so downtown New York to me, particularly Soho, which is why we went there to shoot this look! I felt very edgy and blended right in with the neighborhood 🙂

Floral Neon Sundress, Strappy Platform Sandals, Monogrammed Envelope Clutch

Happy September, everyone! It feels like fall in NYC today, so gorgeous out. I wore this neon floral print dress to a Girl’s Night on Thursday with my friends Jeni and Janel. It is SO bright- you can tell from the pictures, it’s not the lighting. I love the cut of this dress. The front looks like a halter top, which is great for showing off your shoulders, but that back is actually criss-cross (secured with a button, interesting). I paired this pink and white number with black accessories, a monogrammed clutch that was a gift from when I was a bridesmaid in my friend Katie’s wedding, and black platform strappy sandals from my friend Helene (a lot of friends in this post!)

These shoes remind me of a quote I recently heard, and agree with: “I just want to make enough money to afford impractical shoes” 😉

Cotton Candy Coat

It’s springtime in February! How glorious has this entire weekend been? This coat was a bit of a trend splurge last fall, which I don’t usually recommend, but it’s just so FUN! Last year’s teddy bear coat has made it to a second season! I wore it out on Friday night, and my girlfriends called it a “Carrie Bradshaw coat”. A few boys told me “your coat is…wonderful” and “your coat looks like cotton candy”. I loved this description so much that it is the new namesake of this post. My boyfriend thinks this coat is silly (re: Man Repeller ha) but I tell him that I make the streets of NYC interesting and fun and give something to delight the people outside! I paired the coat with a favorite pair of gray stretchy skinny jeans, my black Rebecca Minkoff envelope cross-body bag, my go-to tortoise-shell sunnies, and brand new burgundy Chloe moto boots (completely obsessed with these). I love the femininity of the coat, especially when paired with the edgier and more rugged moto boots.

Camel Coat & Croc Collar

Happy New Year! W4street is officially 2 years old today! This snowy weekend in NYC was the perfect opportunity to pull out one of my favorite birthday presents to myself: this wool blend coyote fur trimmed coat. I am from Chicago, and one rule I always stick to when purchasing coats is to only buy coats and jackets that have hoods! Lately, I have been very into fur trim. I have a dark olive green puffer that I wear when it is really cold, but for this weekend’s light snow this “Little Red Riding Hood” inspired coat was perfect. I saw it in September at Nordstrom Rack and they only had a few left. It was love at first site. I love the camel color, fur trim, and the toggle details. It felt very “cloak-like” to me. I was okay with the splurge because it’s so practical (there are even double pockets!) not to mention it’s from one of my favorite designers- Trina Turk. I saw an extremely similar coat at ZARA, too. My coat is still available in black!

This post must be a delayed birthday post, because I paired the coat with my favorite new black leather tassel cross-body– another birthday present from my good friend Nicky, and an amazing Baublebar crocodile and pearl collar (trend alert!) I saw and had to have. I have been wearing my OTK boots over pants this winter, too. They add an extra layer of warmth to my legs! Sorry there aren’t more pictures- it was really cold!
