A few weeks ago I visited one of my best friends, Gracie, in London (she is also the photographer extraordinaire for these posts) before heading to Barcelona to meet my family. London is known to rain a lot and be gray, and while we had the first few weeks of spring weather, the evenings became very chilly. A trench coat is the quintessential clothing item I would recommend for London, and a closet staple. I had this one designed about 5 (gasp) years ago when I was in Vietnam. I was about to start my consulting career and wanted a sleek and sophisticated coat. I loved the silk black piping I had them sew on as a nice detail. Gracie and I went to Buckingham Palace for her first time on this day, and also out for a fancy high tea, so I wore a dressier lace up blouse (trend alert)! I paired the look with sleek ankle-zipper black leggings. There was a lot of walking, so I wore my comfy burgundy ballet flats. They are “Circus” by Sam Edelman and are so comfortable and hardy. I have owned them for years, and I love the unexpected and edgy punch from the spike details stemming from the bows.
It was 82 degrees in NYC today, and it officially feels like summer! I spent the whole day outside, and it was the perfect occasion to wear my new boxy ruffle striped blouse. I love stripes (and polka dots!), and the ruffle adds a feminine touch. Last week in Spain I got these awesome denim leggings (jeggings). They are so comfortable because they have an elastic waist! I completed this classic look with glamorous shades, my trusty Panama hat, and old Tory Burch flats. This pair is probably 8 years old! I love the gold touches throughout tying this look together- from the gold rim on the sunglass frames, to the gold bar bracelet, to the gold plates on the ballerina flats.
Hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous day!
