End of Summer Weekend Look: Embroidered Eyelet Dress, Espadrilles, & Wicker Bag

Summer don’t leave us! This weekend was absolutely perfect weather- sunshine and in the low 70s! It was my niece’s 4th birthday, which meant I (obviously) would wear a pretty dress for her. I have always been into eyelet lace, but over the past few summers (starting in 2017) I have been really into embroidered eyelet lace. Parker makes a gorgeous variety of dresses, and that little bit of extra detail is so fun! I also like the tiered flutter sleeves on this one- so feminine! With Labor Day just around the corner, I only have a few more days to wear this white dress with navy embroidery. I paired it with my favorite trusty espadrilles (love that the two navies match), and a circular wicker bag from this season (trend alert!) I kept my accessories gold and simple: Ray Ban aviators and my everyday gold watch. Is there a more summery look than this?!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

France Part 2, Cannes: Striped Maxi Dress, Panama Hat & Aviators

After Aix-en-Provence, we made a quick pit stop for the night in Marseilles, and then continued to Cannes. I have always been curious to see and explore Cannes, as it sounds so glamorous with the Cannes Film Festival! I remember looking at all of the movie stars in their billowing silk gowns on the French Riviera’s red carpet. While we ate some amazing meals in Cannes (a few pics below) and Gwen did some serious shopping damage, I think that I would be okay to skip it when I go back to the south of France. There were a lot of tourists, and a lot of cruise ships! I did love this summery striped maxi dress though- it felt very nautical to me. I paired the dress with my trusty Panama hat, and gold rim aviator sunglasses.

I love the mock-halter of this dress, as well as the easy tie at the front. This dress will be great to transition into fall with a leather jacket. It’s a perfect look for Los Angeles…or Cannes!

Royal Wedding in Windsor (Part 2): Scallops on Scallops on Scallops

I can’t believe that the Royal Wedding was 2 weeks ago already, and that it is now June! On the first day of the party, the ladies and I went on a barge down the Thames River. The attire theme was “nautical”, so I figured that you can’t go wrong with navy! I love anything that has scalloping trim (trend alert!) , so this mock halter bib neck dress seemed perfect. I kept the look preppy, and scalloped, by pairing the look with a scalloped monogrammed envelope clutch and scalloped black flats. To accessorize, I paired the look with classic aviators and jewelry from my new friend Anna’s “Anna K Collection”! You can shop this look from the links at the end of the post.

Striped Culottes & Crop Top

It’s mid September and we have had an 80 degree weather streak…and I will take it! More days for me to wear my favorite crop top (trend alert) and bold striped pants (trend alert) ! I love these wide leg pants / culottes. They are so comfy, closing at my waist, and they “swish” when I walk! At first glance, it looks like I am wearing a pleated skirt. I also love the cut of this crop top…the high neck is so flattering and I like that it is not too short either (I wish I had bought a few pairs). I paired this outfit with my trusty gold aviators, Rebecca Minkoff black bag, and block heeled strappy sandals.

I was wearing this outfit when I met the ultimate fashion blogger, Chiara Ferragni…thank goodness I had something cute on! These pictures are taken in my hood, in one of my favorite parks, Washington Square Park. This look is very edgy and “downtown”, while also being sophisticated.

Nantucket: Shorts & Sweater Weather

To everyone that received my last post… in French apparently, that was not me! I sincerely apologize. My site has been maliciously attacked over the past few months, and I am working on a solution now that it seems to be a regular occurrence. Until the solution is reached, I will continue to post via WordPress here, per usual. Again, I am so sorry if you received the French spam post!

It is my Mom’s and my second day on Nantucket, and it is just as gorgeous as I remember it. Nantucket is New England prep at its finest. My anchor-print white J. Crew shorts are perfect for the island! They also are perfect for transitioning with layers into fall. It’s a little cooler here now that it is September, so I paired my shorts with my favorite taupe sweater (hooray for sweater weather!) I kept the look downtown edgy with my new white velcro sneakers from Calvin Klein. (I never would have thought that I would ever wear velcro sneakers past the age of 5…but here I am). My gold ray ban aviators were the finishing touch to this classic, casual-but-polished look.

Happy weekend!

Nautical Vertical Stripes

Yesterday was my close friend Jeni’s birthday party, and we celebrated by going out on her boat in Oyster Bay! (It’s a tough life, I know). It was the most beautiful day yesterday, perfect for a little sail. I wore one of my favorite new dresses that I plan to wear all summer- an off-the-shoulder (trend alert) and ruffled top (trend alert) vertical striped dress. I love stripes, and they are intrinsically nautical, but I have recently been very into vertical stripes. I paired the dress with my favorite Panama hat and classic gold aviator sunglasses, a black string bikini, and my favorite new gold star lace-up sandals. I love this entire outfit- feminine and on-trend, but minimalist. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! I might be re-wearing this dress…it’s 4th of July acceptable!

Fluted Hem Mini Dress

It finally felt like spring this weekend, which of course meant that I could whip out some of my favorite spring pieces! I love this navy mini dress from Zara. It has beautiful studding details which highlight the fluted hem. I consider navy a neutral, so I paired it with camel booties that also have a surprising coral heel. The interior lining of these booties is matching coral as well, which I think is a clever detail. I got these booties in college, and I still love them. I paired this simple downtown look with my brand new gold Ray Ban sunglasses. A pair of aviators are a classic closet staple. I am bringing them with me to London tonight!

Happy Spring! Enjoy the graffiti wall pics- I couldn’t resist. Thanks to Daniel for the photos!

Memorial Day Weekend: Sundress Season

It’s officially summer! I hope everyone had as fun of a Memorial Day weekend as I had. I love Memorial Day weekend, besides the 3 day weekend, the weather is usually beautiful, there is so much family and grilling, and it is the start of sundress season! I wore the below outfit to my sister and brother in law’s BBQ in Chicago. Yeezy Boost 750 Acheter I had a straw hat I was dying to pair it with, but their deck is pretty windy. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Pas Cher The blue, white, and pink design of the dress is pretty patriotic, and I love how the dress is flowy and swings. I am usually not the hugest fan of spaghetti straps, but I feel like they go nicely with this design. I paired the dress with classic gold rim aviators. I pulled out one of my favorite pairs of pewter flats which have a front knot and a pointed toe. Adidas Ultra Boost France I love a good bow, but the knot is so elegant and a little bit more masculine. If I throw a black sweater or jean jacket over this dress, I could easily wear it to work.

Weekend Drinks

I recently wore the below outfit to drinks downtown. I paired one of my favorite dove gray and silver beaded flowy tops with black cutoff slacks, a hot pink bag, and sky high peep toe heels. When I first saw this top, I fell in love with the intricate beading. It sort of reminded me of a beautiful spider web (in a non-creepy way!) I kept my jewelry minimal, as the beading on the top already has a lot going on. I wear the slacks to work all of the time in the spring and fall, with a work-appropriate blouse or blazer, of course! These Stuart Weitzman peep toe platform heels are so versatile. I have worn them with dresses and skirts, and they can also be dressed down with slacks or even skinny jeans. These classic aviators go everywhere with me, and they also go with every outfit (pretty much!) However, the real star of this look is the lambskin cross-body bag. I love the pop of color, and the deep hot pink shade is so unique. A bright, fun bag is a closet staple, in my book. Despite constantly thinking that bright bags will be hard to match, they go with so many outfits.
