It’s officially holiday party and gala (!) season! Last night I attended the Light Up the Night Benefit at the Museum of Jewish Heritage with 13 of my closest friends. The evening was a BLAST. There was a photobooth, unlimited drinks, freshly fried latkes, and dancing. For the event, I knew I did not want to wear anything red (haha). So, I wore this beautiful Catherine Deane high-collared lace dress. The lace is delicate and beautiful, and it reminds me of something Kate Middleton would wear. I paired my favorite gold velvet Tamara Mellon pumps with the dress…love this festive color combo! I kept my jewelry simple with a gold watch and diamond stud earrings. I completed the look with a new favorite accessory of the moment– a knotted turban-style headband (trend alert)!
I love the color red (such a strong color!) and I love a beautiful coat. So, when I laid my eyes on this gorgeous cherry red (“lollipop red”) Kate Spade coat last year, I had to have it. A beautiful classic coat is a closet staple. This coat feels so luxurious when I wear it. It is lined beautifully, and my favorite part is the big fun bow which snaps on at the front. I kind of feel like a big walking present! Coco Chanel would have approved of this coat. If you look closely, I also love the big beautiful buttons on this coat. I paired the look with little emerald studs, and a skinny black headband. Any time I wear a headband I instantly feel more girly. This whole look reminds me of something Blair Waldorf would wear!
Of course, I had to wear my trusty Christian Louboutin’s so that the red sole of the shoe would pop with the red coat!
While I was wearing this coat I was stopped by a former stylist walking his dog (who said “nice pins”), an elderly woman also walking her dog who adored the coat, and the man who lives in the brownstone behind me! Later in the day I wore it to Rolf’s for eggnog, and I was also stopped by a group of middle-aged moms. This coat is such a fun and whimsical statement in itself, and I plan to wear and enjoy it for years to come!
With Thanksgiving officially behind us, it’s now one of my favorite seasons of the year: Holiday Party Season! I love this time of year because it’s totally okay to wear all things sparkly and shiny. I have six holiday parties over the next two weeks, and I plan to repeat-wear the below outfit to a few of them. I adore this pleated metallic (trend alert) Rebecca Taylor skirt, and dove gray ruffle sleeve Endless Rose sweater (from two years ago). I completed the look with a red lip- perfect for holiday parties (or any time of year!) and my favorite ankle strap PVC heels. This look is conservative and would also be perfect for a work holiday party!
Who else is excited for the holidays?!
One of my favorite prints to wear is leopard print, and I particularly love leopard print for fall. It’s so fun and whimsical! I got this drop waist sweater dress a few years ago at Ann Taylor Loft, and I love how flouncy it is (very fun to twirl in). It’s also work appropriate. I paired the look with my hot pink Valentino rockstuds to add a pop of color.
Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving!
I know we had one winter snow storm in New York City already, but let’s go back to fall for a second! I am still loving houndstooth for fall, and I have had this coat for almost a decade! It just goes to show you that classics can stick around. I kept the rest of the look really simple: black! I added some feminine touches with my pearl embellished shoes and whimsical heart shaped sunglasses.
I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving this week already! Also, how gorgeous are these fiery orange trees?!
I will keep this one short but sweet: fuchsia for fall! I love the bright and bold hue of this silk fluttery top by Parker. I am a sucker for any piece that has cloth buttons! I kept the look downtown and edgy with raw-hem jeans, my favorite studded buckle booties, matching gold accessories and whimsical heart-shaped sunglasses.
One of my favorite things about dressing for the fall season is…houndstooth! I love a good houndstooth print, and I particularly loved this dress (which is 9 years old!) because it was mixed with sexy black lace at the top. I kept the look “fall” with burgundy velvet lace-up booties. What is more fall than burgundy and velvet?! I completed the look with my this-season smaller cateye sunglasses to keep my style downtown and edgy.
I can’t believe it’s almost holiday party season!

Happy Halloween!!! This is my favorite season in the West Village, because all of the big fancy brownstones compete with each other over who has the most ostentatious, over-the-top decorations! I went for a lovely weekend stroll with my friend Gracie and her visiting friend Angela. Below are a few of my favorite houses!
For our downtown walking tour, I wore my new favorite edgy buckle boots and a new oversized Rebecca Minkoff double breasted peacoat.
Which decorated house is your favorite? I think I like the one with all of the white pumpkins and cats! This house does the same decoration every year, it’s their thing!
The second part of this quilted faux leather skirt look is live! This time I made it more “school girl” by pairing it with a silk DVF blouse with a big black detachable pussy bow (trend alert!) and ankle length black lace up booties. I love a dramatic black and white look! I went with a low sleek ponytail, a dark berry lip by Stila, and dark nail polish (“Wicked” by Essie). It felt like a very fall shoot, in a few of my favorite West Village spots! I love looking at all of the West Village homes that have been decorated for Halloween.
Another Halloween inspired post to come! It will be a fun one…
One of my favorite closet staple pieces and the first part in a two part series is about this black faux leather quilted skirt! I got this skirt about 7 years ago (when I was still in college!) and it’s been such a versatile piece in my wardrobe. In my blog moving forward, I am going to try to focus more on sustainable fashion and styling the same piece multiple ways. I love an all black look (c’mon, I’m a New Yorker). I kept it interesting with embroidered booties (trend alert) that are one of my favorite fall accessories! I love the gold embroidered pattern, the chunky block heel, and the height of these booties. I accessorized with my favorite gold watch, gold delicate star necklace and whimsical black heart sunglasses!
