I have been living in this Miguelina maxi dress all summer! I love the blue and white colors, the polka dot pattern, the intricate lace, and the subtle (and whimsical) dragonfly embroidery. It’s cotton which makes it very comfortable, and it is easy to dress up or down with the accessories. I recently packed this dress for a trip to Montana, and it was perfect for Saturday night. It is sold out at Net-A-Porter but is still available at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman!
Exactly one week ago I was wearing this silk off-the-shoulder (trend alert!) blue and white polka dot DVF “Camila” dress and dancing at my best friend Gracie’s wedding in Harrisburg, PA! I am guilty of owning this DVF dress in two colors: blue and white polka dots and fuchsia! I just love the waterfall hem on this dress, it moves so beautifully when you walk. I also love mixing unexpected colors, so I paired the dress with purple satin bow heels. They have a little rhinestone glittery clasp on the side. I accessorized the dress with a sleek headband to accentuate off my collarbones, and a red lip to glam up the look!
I can’t believe that Gracie is married!
I can’t believe there are less than two weeks of summer left! I have so many special summer clothes that I am trying to wear quickly now ha! I wore this strapless silk paisley maxi dress on a weekend stroll last Saturday with one of my best friends, Nicky. We walked around some of our favorite spots in the West Village, including my favorite street: Morton Street. I kept the look simple, easy, flowy, and classic with gold aviators and a brown leather gold lobster-claw clasp Tory Burch hobo bag. I completely the look with a new dainty gold two-star necklace (trend alert) I purchased that day from Gorjana!
I like that this look has boho vibes. It’s different from looks that I usually wear, which is fun!
This was one of my absolute favorite days. Gwen and I saw so much beauty, crossed country boarders, and had an amazing evening at the sea. For our Eze and Monaco daytrip, we took the gorgeous high road to the “exotic garden” at the top of the mountain. Nietzsche used to come up here to contemplate! The drive was gorgeous and windy (but terrifying) and the views were totally worth it. From Eze we drove to Monaco for lunch. I will always remember that it was the hottest day ever. We had our favorite– moules-frites in the harbor of Monte Carlo, and then went to explore the “palace”. We finished our adventure day at a beach that was recommended to us in the picturesque seaside village of Villefranche Sur Mer. I loved swimming against the colored houses in the background.
For our long day, I opted for a fun Aztec-printed jumpsuit by Calyspo. I love the preppy pink and green combination, and the geometric is so different from anything else that I own. The cotton was comfy and lightweight. I was happy with the strapless top because…tan lines! I also love the fun silk tassel ties at the waist. I originally was not crazy about the fringe at the bottom hem, but now I think it’s fun! I completed the look with my Panama hat (a necessity!), my Ray Ban aviator sunglasses, a dainty gold necklace, and a Rebecca Minkoff cross-body bag.
This post captures one of my absolute favorite memories from my trip to France. It’s always been a dream of mine to visit the world famous Hotel du Cap Eden Roc. Gwen and I pulled up to the perfectly manicured gates in our little black Cleo, where we were greeted by 4 valet men. After ensuring us that we knew that they did not cause the scratches on our vehicle (haha!) we stepped out and enjoyed the spectacular views from the hotel. My friend Gwen (in marigold Maje!) and I each enjoyed a glass of Whispering Angel rose as we looked out on the incredible infinity pool and the calm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. I will remember it forever!
For our fancy day out, I wore a new DVF silk off-the-shoulder (trend alert!) waterfall-hem printed dress. I love how the silk is so delicate and billowed in the wind. I kept the look simple, and chic, with a delicate gold necklace, oversized cat-eye sunglasses, and white and nude slingbacks. I love these white shoes- they are the perfect height and are comfortable, and the cut brings back major 80s vibes!
I miss the glamour and tranquility of this place…sigh! The last two photographs in this post are from Hotel Belles Rives…an also spectacular hotel on the drive to Hotel du Cap Eden Roc!
All of last week I checked the forecast for Saturday– the day of the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, and it was rain rain rain. Then Saturday rolled around and there was no rain! It was just one of the hottest days I can remember…85 degrees with a beating sun! This was my first time at the event, and it was held on Liberty Island, just off of Manhattan. I met some girlfriends in Soho and we headed down! It was so hot, that when we were standing in the champagne line the guy standing behind us offered us paper towels to blot off our sweaty skin and dripping hair (eww).
For the event, I knew I wanted to wear a cute sundress that I wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. I opted for this gingham (trend alert!) off-the-shoulder (trend alert!) and embroidered eyelet (trend alert!) number. I completed the look with a preppy boat hat, mirrored sunnies, comfy block-heeled sandals, and a springy coral lip!
Heading to another horse event tomorrow…The Belmont!
This past weekend I traveled to Miami for the first time for my friend Molly’s bachelorette party. When I saw this Kate Spade dress a few weeks ago in New York, I knew I had to get it for the trip. The bright colors and fun geo border pattern seemed so “Miami”! The dress is so fun and reminds me of a pinata. It had great movement and was very swingy and fun to wear. I kept the look simple with strappy black sandals, and a delicate gold evil-eye necklace. These pictures were taken on the boardwalk, and at the Faena hotel. This hotel has the most gorgeous lobby and bar area…it feels like a museum! Definitely a must-stop when you visit Miami.
I wore this dress out for the day, but it could easily be dressed up for a cocktail occasion with the right heels and accessories.
The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. I spent mine at home in Chicago for the long weekend. I wore quite a bit of red, white, and blue all weekend! I was very proud of this red and white striped cotton jumpsuit for the family BBQ…it’s practically an American flag! A lightweight, easy summer jumpsuit is a closet staple, in my opinion. Plus, unlike skirts or dresses, I didn’t need to worry about the wind on the balcony. I paired this casual jumpsuit (which I plan to wear all summer) with gold strappy sandals and my new favorite accessory…a boater hat! I have enjoyed watching the “hat evolution” over the past few years. The fedora gave way to the Panama hat, which gave way to the boater hat (trend alert)!
Hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday and is enjoying their post-holiday weekend.
This might be the longest named post I have ever written! I am a sucker for surprising backs, and especially if they are seerSUCKER (get it?!) I don’t think that anything quite says “summer” like seersucker. I ordered this fun blouse online a few months ago. I thought that it was so cute and perfect for summer. I also love that it combined a few of my favorite trends: off-the-shoulder and balloon-sleeves! What sold me on it though, was the surprising, fun, and feminine bow back! Everything is better with a bow on it 🙂 I paired this look with white skinny jeans, wedge sandals (a gift from my sister) and a sun-kissed glow from lying out at my cousin’s pool earlier in the day. I am in Chicago for the holiday with my family, and my sister, cousin, and I found an amazing outdoor champagne bar last night in the West Loop. Rose prosecco forever!
Let the 4th of July summery red, white, and blue looks continue!
Yesterday was my close friend Jeni’s birthday party, and we celebrated by going out on her boat in Oyster Bay! (It’s a tough life, I know). It was the most beautiful day yesterday, perfect for a little sail. I wore one of my favorite new dresses that I plan to wear all summer- an off-the-shoulder (trend alert) and ruffled top (trend alert) vertical striped dress. I love stripes, and they are intrinsically nautical, but I have recently been very into vertical stripes. I paired the dress with my favorite Panama hat and classic gold aviator sunglasses, a black string bikini, and my favorite new gold star lace-up sandals. I love this entire outfit- feminine and on-trend, but minimalist. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! I might be re-wearing this dress…it’s 4th of July acceptable!
