Beach Coverup

A cute, lightweight coverup is critical for beach days. I stumbled upon this one and it caught my eye because (one) I love anything striped and (two) the neon green tassels were so fun! I wore it to a beach day in the Hamptons a few weeks ago with my friend Helene. I paired the coverup with a straw Panama hat, gold-detailed sunglasses, and a new bubblegum pink bikini. Beach ready!

I think this coverup is nautical, fun, and easy to throw on- plus it’s a bit of additional sun protection! My friend Ari said that it looked like a talis…a joke that was somewhat appreciated (Coachella talis).

Cold Shoulder Dress

This past weekend I visited Southampton for the first time. It was gorgeous, and I was able to see a beautifully designed and landscaped home from the architecture firm that my good friend Helene works for! I have included pictures of the house in this post, because it was so exquisite, and it made for a pretty spectacular backdrop. I wore one of my new favorite red “cold shoulder” dresses, as this style is so fun and is definitely trending now. I like this dress because it’s a solid base that you can dress up or down. Also, I paid less than $20 for it (I found it on a major sale). I paired the dress with my favorite new “Hamptons” sandals (appropriately named) and some lovely gold geometric earrings, which were a subtle match with these new gold-top cat-eye sunglasses.

Enjoy the pics, and thank you to my lovely friend Helene!! I always have a blast with her, and she takes some pretty nice photos, too. Xo

Flamingos

Every once in a while I get a crush on a particular pattern or object: pineapples, zebras… you get the gist. Currently, I am obsessing over all things flamingo. Flamingos are fun, tropical, preppy, and whimsical. They make me feel like summer is around the corner! Below are a few favorites that I found when scouring the world wide web.

Stay tuned for a very exciting, collaborative, surprise next blog post 😉

Handkerchief Hem

Greece is one of the most wonderful and beautiful countries I have ever visited. I spent a magical vacation there with one of my best friends, Alex, that will make my future honeymoon hard to top! In preparation for the trip I bought this fun hankerchief hem dress, perfect for exploring the medieval villages we stayed in. I love the deep V-neck front and back, and the patterned print is so fun. I don’t own many pieces that are like this dress, and there is something that is so beachy and resort-y about it which I was attracted to. This is probably my longest post to date, mainly due to the travel pictures I took. Every corner was more picturesque and charming than the next. Each door provided an amazing backdrop for a shot.

My Guide to Santorini:
– Explore the medieval town of Fira (so quaint and charming), and less touristy than Oia and the coastal towns
– Visit a vineyard. Drink delicious sweet Santorini white wine (every day!)
– Visit a Greek bakery and eat a doughy olive roll or chocolate bread ring for breakfast
– Marvel at the thousands of cats throughout Greece
– Oia! Sooo gorgeous. Go to the Perivolas rooftop to watch the Santorini sunset
– Charter a boat and go see the black, white and red beaches. Swim in the volcanic hot springs! (Bring a dark colored bathing suit so the sulfur doesn’t ruin it). Watch the sunset and eat fish right from the sea
– Visit the Atlantis bookshop, rated one of the top 10 bookshops in the world. When you visit, you will see why
–  Hike Ammoudi Bay! Enjoy the beauty. Look out for donkey poop
– Once at Ammoudi Bay, eat dinner on the sea. Maybe take a dip. Glimpse the fresh octopus drying. Eat octopus salad and calamari!
– Hike back up to watch the sunset. Clap with all of the tourists as the last sliver of sun slides into the sea
– Cap off the night with fig gelato! (To die for)

I miss Santorini already! I am already dreaming of returning…

Panama Highlights & Yellow Kaftan

Last week, my Dad, step mom and I traveled to Panama City, Panama for a quick vacation. I enjoyed how urban the city was, in many ways it felt like Miami. Highlights of the trip were traveling to see the Baha’i Temple, exploring the historic district (I would still love to spend more time here), and, of course, seeing the Panama Canal. When we were there, there was a huge ship making its way across. Crossing the Panama Canal costs about $30,000 per ship and can take about eight hours.

This trip was a perfect opportunity for me to break out one of the new pieces I picked up at the ZARA sale last week: a yellow and blue embroidered beach cover up. I paired it with my obligatory Panama hat (when in Panama…) and some classic Ray Ban aviators.

ZARA Sale Purchases

The only good thing about the 4th of July being over (arguably my favorite holiday, after Thanksgiving!) is that a lot of stores have amazing sales. I have never been a huge ZARA shopper, but there is one right near my gym so….

This weekend I popped in and it was a zoo. Some amazing, trendy pieces at very reasonable prices. I am about to head out on vacation to Panama, so I picked up a few beach cover ups. I also picked up a few dresses, because I need more of those (said no one ever).

If you need anything and have the time, enjoy the sale!

Nicaragua: Blue Stripes

This past week, one of my best friends and I decided to book last minute tickets to Nicaragua for the long Memorial Day weekend. It was so spontaneous, and a huge adventure. We ended up meeting two other San Francisco girls at a hostel we stayed at on our first night, and they ended up joining us for the rest of our trip. The four of us had a fabulous time- between horseback riding on the beach, surfing, exploring pastel-colored old town Granada, and playing with lots of stray animals (ha!) Below are a few highlights from our vacation. This post’s feature is simple- a white and blue striped strapless dress that I wore for dinner one night at the ranch we stayed at (the fact that it matches the Nicaraguan flag is a coincidence!) I don’t like to wear shoes on warm vacations, so there are no shoes in this post. Just the dress, my gold-plated delicate lotus necklace, and hair that could not be tamed.

I am back home in New York for the first time after three weeks of travel, although I am missing our trip a lot!
