Vacation Ready Fur Parka

I hope everyone’s been enjoying the holiday season! I kicked mine off with my friend Janna’s wedding in Tucson, AZ and then spent Christmas in Chicago with my family. Now I am back in NYC! (Bahamas next week haha). I had brunch with two of my best friends yesterday, Jeni and Janel, in Soho! It’s chilly but not too cold in NYC, which was the perfect opportunity for me to wear my new favorite fur-colored parka! It was the first time wearing it, and even a stranger lady on the street said to me “beautiful coat!” I love this coat for many reasons: It has a Patagonia down undercoat that can unzip from the outer coat, and the hood is also detachable, which makes it very versatile and functional! I kept the look chic and clean with white denim and gray leather booties.

This coat would be the perfect glamorous accessory for a cold destination vacation!

Holiday Edit: Green Lace High-Collared Dress and Golden Velvet Pumps

It’s officially holiday party and gala (!) season! Last night I attended the Light Up the Night Benefit at the Museum of Jewish Heritage with 13 of my closest friends. The evening was a BLAST. There was a photobooth, unlimited drinks, freshly fried latkes, and dancing. For the event, I knew I did not want to wear anything red (haha). So, I wore this beautiful Catherine Deane high-collared lace dress. The lace is delicate and beautiful, and it reminds me of something Kate Middleton would wear. I paired my favorite gold velvet Tamara Mellon pumps with the dress…love this festive color combo! I kept my jewelry simple with a gold watch and diamond stud earrings. I completed the look with a new favorite accessory of the moment– a knotted turban-style headband (trend alert)!

Wedding Guest Edition: “Robinhood” Coat and Pants for Unexpected Snow

This weekend I attended (another) wedding! This one was in Boulder, Colorado, and it was for a good friend of mine from Thailand. The whole week was in the 60s and sunny, except for the actual wedding day on Sunday– where temperatures suddenly dropped into the 20s and it snowed 5 inches! The bride and groom needed to change their outdoor mountain wedding venue. I used this as an opportunity to wear one of my favorite new fall coats! This coat reminds me of Robinhood because of the fur detailing at the front, the buckle closures, and the hood. I also love the forrest green color- it’s almost a neutral. I dressed the coat up with a red lip, gold jewelry, my trusty leather booties, and black leggings. (Hey, I wanted to stay warm!)

NYAC Holiday Party: Pleated Emerald Lace

I wore this emerald green pleated lace frock to another NYAC holiday party with my friends Jeni and Janel. I love pretty much any and all lace dresses, and I love how sophisticated and demure this one is. It came with the nude skinny belt, which matched perfectly with the strappy sandals I paired it with. This dress reminds me so much of something Princess Kate would wear. Although, no open-toed shoes for her, she probably would pair it with closed-toe pumps. I accessorized the dress with simple pearl and diamond drop earrings. The emerald color and sleeves on this dress make it perfect for winter holiday parties, although it is also versatile enough to wear as a transitional dress I think, as well.

Graduation Guest: Jeweled Shift Dress

My sister graduated from medical school today (so proud!) and the below are a few pics of the outfit I wore to the graduation. I chose this kelly green shift dress because it’s springy, conservative for a family-friendly event, festive, and a shift dress that can be worn from work to a cocktail party. I love the jeweled studded design that decorates the front of this dress. Green is one of my favorite colors to wear. I paired the dress with quiet pink pearl dangly earrings, and new favorite shoes I will be wearing all summer: block-heeled strappy sandals (trend alert)!
