Right before I started my new job, I headed back to my favorite stomping grounds in NYC for a little pampering. I got my first keratin hair treatment, a deep cleansing facial, a massage, and a mani/pedi. Such a fun week! I also got to visit my favorite park, Washington Square Park, for a little stroll with my best friend, Nicky. The same crazies were still there- do you see the guy on the left with the “Free Hugs” sign? I wore raw hem (trend alert, 2 years still!) cut off jeans that I purchased for about $15 in Auckland (random, right?), a simple black top, my new green flannel-lined utility jacket (holiday gift from my sister), new gold earrings, trusty gold watch, trusty gold rings, and Ray Bans. I made the outfit pop with my leopard-tassel-pointed-toe Gianvito Rossi flats. I’ve been very into delicate gold jewelry lately. I must be watching too much “Very Cavallari”! My nail color is “Wicked” by Essie.
My cousin Sarah got married last Saturday in the most beautiful vineyard wedding in Traverse City, Michigan! For the occasion, I knew that I would need to be careful about my footwear choice as there was grass. I decided to go with one of my favorite seven year old (!) pleated maxi dresses that I bought in Thailand. I don’t wear maxi dresses too often, but I do enjoy them. I like the summery bright colorblock on this one! Also, it allowed me to wear flat gold sandals…perfect for grass and allowed me to happily dance the night away! I accessorized with gold earrings, my gold watch, my quilted Chanel bag with gold hardware, and my trusty heart sunglasses. I am wishing it was last weekend!
Two of my favorite trends of the season (trend alert!): heart earrings and lace up booties! These pearl embellished earrings are from H&M and are so fun and Valentine’s Day appropriate! The coat is a classic from Sandro, and I adore these croc-embossed lace up booties with a chunky heel. Perfect for one of my final West Village strolls 🙂
This weekend was GORGEOUS in NYC. Sunny and breezy, with very little humidity. It was one of the nicest days we have had all summer. Maxi skirts will always have a special place in my heart after living in conservative Norhteastern Thailand, as I wore a lot of them to the school I taught at. My friend Nicky and I saw this button-up one at Anthropologie the other week and I fell in love with it. I love the Provence-style yellow and blue print—and the whimsical yellow tulips! I kept the look simple and late-summery with a black cloth button-front tank (thanks to my sister Dara for gifting this to me! I also got it in crème ?) and gold and pearl big shell earrings. Between the tulips and shells, this look was a fun mixture of sophisticated and whimsical.
If you fasted today for Yom Kippur, hope you will be enjoying the break fast soon! Also happy birthday to my dear friend, Helene!
This weekend I attended the wedding of two of my good family friends, Erika and Doug. It was a beautiful wedding in Chicago! I picked up this Badgley Mischka colorblock eyelet dress last week just for the occasion. I loved that the neckline is a sort of faux-halter, and the blue eyelet is so intricate and pretty. I paired the dress with ankle-strap heels, which I have had for 10 years since I was a freshman in college! I love these shoes because they are elegant, and the heel is not too tall so they are pretty comfortable. I kept the look feminine and preppy with black tassel statement earrings, and a woven flower clutch.
I will miss Chicago, but excited for my next stop this week…Amsterdam!
Below are some of my favorite must-haves from Kate Spade’s Spring / Summer ’17 line! I must say I am embarrassed that this post has been sitting in my “Drafts” folder since May! Enjoy the eye candy. I love her whimsical designs!
Happy almost Labor Day holiday!
I am so excited to share with you some photos I did for a campaign with renowned jewlery designer, Elena Kriegner! Elena is an artist, and you know this immediately by looking at any of her gorgeous and unique pieces. Her distinct style involves changing pieces that can be worn in multiple ways. The jewelry is hand crafted from the finest and highest quality materials, with each gemstone being individually selected by Elena herself. Elena started jewelry designing in her Austrian village when she was a child, and she is living her dream. After our photo shoot along the Hudson River, I loved visiting her Chelsea studio and seeing where she creates her jewelry (pictures below). My favorite pieces are the ones inspired by her travels and nature: seashells and the ocean.

I never thought I would start a blog post with “Ball Drop”, but here it is! Last night I caved in for the latest statement earring trend that I initially was not on board with but now am…the ball drop earrings! Also known as “orb” and “globe” earrings (trend alert). I bought this sunny yellow pair from a NYC street vendor but I have linked a few similar versions below. I know that J. Crew, Club Monaco, Intermix, and BaubleBar all carry them. They were the perfect summer touch to this amazing Theory jumpsuit (trend alert) I have been waiting to wear. I first saw this jumpsuit last February at Bloomingdales, and was immediately attracted to the off-the-shoulder / strapless (trend alert) top, and culotte / wide leg bottom (trend alert). Also, jumpsuits have been on the steady incline for the past few years and I am happy to support this movement. I finished off the look with my favorite nude strappy sandals. I have gotten so much wear out of these, and they go with everything!
I’m really excited to share the first part of a series of holiday party looks. I absolutely love getting dressed up for the season’s holiday parties, it’s a positive for dealing with frigid temperatures! I usually opt for lace and sparkles (there may be some of that later!) but for this past Saturday night’s parties it was too cold to wear the dress I had originally picked out. I recently ordered this elegant black ostrich feather trim top. I love it! I paired it with black classic slim pants and one of my favorite trends of this season: velvet shoes! I picked these ones up at a Tamara Mellon sample sale. I was originally disappointed that the blue and fuschia colors were sold out. However, the gold is so rich and warm. I love playing with details and textures- the feathers and velvet complement each other. I topped everything off with a bright red lip. This look is a great alternative to the standard cocktail dress, and would also be appropriate for office holiday parties. Feminine, chic, sophisticated, and elegant!
Tom Naples Photography and I are at it again. We shot this look a few weeks ago on a beautiful warm fall day in the Lower East Side. We were particularly inspired by street graffiti and the Williamsburg Bridge. This post has a few different key fashion elements: this Maje leather jacket- which is a closet staple and an investment piece which is perfect for fall, this burgundy (trend alert!) pleated maxi dress- which is a great fall transition piece, this tie-string choker (trend alert!) which I have been wearing almost every day, my trusty ear jackets and ankle strap flats. This maxi dress is perfect for summer to fall, as it’s lightweight but long, can be layered easily, and the burgundy color is my favorite fall shade. I felt pretty rocker-chic and edgy between the leather jacket and the choker. It was Tom’s idea to head to the Williamsburg Bridge (I had never been) and it was such a blast. He has such an amazing eye! Enjoy the pics, and be sure to shop the links below.
