Pleated Back Blouse, Gold Cap-Toe Pumps, & Heart Sunglasses

I love beautiful details on pieces, especially if it’s unexpected and a “surprise” on the back! The backs of clothes are seen as much as the fronts of clothes if you think about it, so it’s fun to give people something to look at- even if your face is on the other side! I bought this beautiful silk back pleated top last year and I love it. It’s a great neutral creme color, and a staple for work. The accordion-style pleats are so flowy and gorgeous. I kept the look simple by pairing it with raw hem gray denim (can’t believe it’s jean season again!), Zara gold cap-toe pumps, a matching gold watch, and my brand new heart shaped sunglasses (trend alert!). I love how whimsical these sunglasses are and have been wearing them nearly every day. They will be featured in a few upcoming posts!

Happy October, everyone!

NYC Downtown Weekend: Fringe Jeans, Slides, and Crossbody Bag

It’s finally fall in NYC. Cooler temps and lots of rain this weekend! I wore this outfit pretty much all weekend: my favorite hippie ombre fringe jeans (trend alert!), a simple knot-front dove gray sweater, Rebecca Minkoff studded crossbody bag, and embellished slides. I finished the look with my little cat-eye sunglasses (trend alert!) This look was easy and so perfect for bopping around downtown with my gal Nicky!

Chain Link Halter Top, White Jeans, & Espadrilles

Ahh, summer. White jeans, halter tops, and espadrilles: three of my favorite things! I love the big chunky plastic cream chain link halter on this top, and how it whimsically matches the preppy chain link print. I paired the look with my favorite white skinny jeans from last summer, and navy blue espadrilles that are so comfy. I love espadrilles. They scream “summer”! To complete the look, I wore $5 cat-eye sunglasses that I bought on Friday from a NYC street vendor.

Thanks to my pal, Nicky, for taking these pics!

Winter White

Even though it is March, it still is so cold in New York City and feels like winter! So, there is still time for my chunky winter white sweater. I bought this sweater a few years ago at a Calypso (one of my favorite brands) sample sale, and it is so warm. I kept the look simple and chic with gray raw hem denim, edgy sunnies, and snakeskin cap-toe ankle strap heels. I love the blue skies and brighter light though…spring really must be around the corner!

Valentine’s Day: Blue Hearts & Pearl Booties

I can’t believe it is yet another Valentine’s Day! As a child, I loved to wear red and pink on this holiday. Today, I still like to stay in the festive spirit with whimsical heart prints. A few years ago (hard to believe) I styled the pink and red version of this heart print button-down on the blog. This year, I am styling the blue version! I paired it with a faux fur navy sweater, and white denim. Who says you can’t wear denim after Labor Day 😉

My favorite part of this whole look, however, are the pearl booties. They are Jeffrey Campbell and it took three orders to get the perfect size and style. However, I LOVE them. The gold in the heel complemented the gold buttons on the blouse nicely.  The heel is the perfect height, and the pearls add such a nice surprise detail in the back. I wore these with my friend, Nicky, into Jeffrey’s over the weekend, and the sales people were all squinting at my boots and asking if they were Chanel (HA!)

I am off to Copenhagen tonight. Happy Valentine’s Day, loves!

Blue Velvet Booties, Raw Hem Jeans, Ruffle Sleeve Sweater

Thank you to all of my subscribers for reading my blog! I wanted to send a little note and apologize that my latest posts for the past few weeks were not sending you an email. WordPress had a glitch, which has been restored. Please be sure to check out the posts from these weeks though, I kept up with posting regularly, for the most part! There are some holiday party and NYE looks (I know that sounds ancient).

So, the below look is really a fall look that I have been meaning to post, but I think that it transitions well into winter. This ruffle-sleeve sweater is a variation on the popular bell sleeves (trend alert!). I also love the mock turtleneck, and the soft dove gray color of this sweater. I kept this look current with raw hem denim, and possibly my favorite trend of these colder months: velvet booties (trend alert!). When I saw this Nine West pair, I had to get them…I loved the rich deep blue velvet, the button detailing (very Victorian), the round toe, and the interesting shape of the heel. I completed the look with my favorite clear plastic sunnies. I love these because they go with everything!

Crop Top, Fringe Jeans, Mules, & Draped Leather Jacket

Last week my ballerina cousin Nancy took me as her plus 1 to the Ballet Beautiful book launch party. The event was held in the cutest hideaway space in Meatpacking, called Fort Gansevoort. Attire was “Ballerina Chic”, but I didn’t want to embarrass Nancy with my tulle skirt! I opted for my favorite piece of the moment: my red Maje leather moto jacket. I paired it with a black crop top (it was in the 70s in October!) and ombre fringe jeans (trend alert) that I am really into now. I love pairing them with my pearl studded mules. I completed the look with my trusty ear jackets for a very edgy, downtown look. Lately, I have been loving wearing my leather jackets draped over my shoulders; it gives me an instant “pulled together” look and feel.

Fall Look: Whimsical Silk Blouse, Fur Vest, Raw Hem Denim, Kitten Heel Booties

This is the first fall look (true fall look…) I have worn this season. It has been so warm I have still been able to get away with my summer clothing! I paired my whimsical silk eyeball blouse by Alice & Olivia with a fur vest, dark raw hem denim, and new kitten heel booties. I immediately loved the print of this blouse, and you can’t go wrong with silk blouses. This fur vest (trend alert, a few years now!) is special to me because it was a splurge on my 26th birthday, plus it’s reversible! These gray ram hem denim jeans are a closet staple, as they go with everything. The length of the denim is perfect for showing off great shoes. I purchased these booties at the FFANY event last week. I was immediately attracted to the button detail, the pointy toe, and the kitten heel (trend alert!) which is big for fall. I felt so edgy at brunch at Gemma with my friends Jeni and Abbey! Abbey even bought, and wore to brunch, the same pair of boots. Twins!

Bettye Collaboration with Shoe Designer Abbey Liebman

Hi guys! I am super, super excited to post the first of a 4 part collaboration series with shoe designer, Abbey Liebman for Bettye’s Fall ’17 Collection! Bettye shoes come in a variety of styles (as you will soon see!) I loved the process of this collaboration…from visiting her design studio, to looking at samples, to seeing the vintage and inspirational shoes she uses. In this first post, I am wearing rose-gold tassel loafer mules (slides…trend alert!) and Abbey is wearing black platform peep toe booties. I opted for an all black look, pairing my new favorite raw hem jeans (trend alert) with a black Marc Jacobs jacket I have had for 10 years (classics never go out)! These mules also come in black and burgundy- I am a big fan of burgundy for fall. Abbey opted for a downtown edgy look. It was a hot, sunny day shooting throughout the West Village and Greenwich Village. HUGE props to our photographer extraordinaire,  Alex Van, for capturing so many amazing pictures and for having an eye for locations!

Also, Abbey was just named the shoe designer for Bettye Muller shoes, so I have a feeling there might be more collaborations in the future 😉

Nantucket Part 2: Blue & White

I spent the past 4 days in Nantucket with my Mom, and it has been pretty dream like. Nantucket is one of my favorite places- it feels very idyllic, almost utopian. Every corner is filled with beautiful flower plantings and charming shingled homes. The style is definitely P R E P P Y. I have been saving these fun turquoise tassel earrings (trend alert) to wear on the island. It also was a perfect place for me to wear my new faux-halter ruffle and lace top. I love the details on this top! I kept the look casual and low-key by wearing my favorite ankle-zipper skinny jeans and white velcro sneakers (trend alert)! Thanks to my wonderful Mom for taking my pics on this trip!
