Satin Polka Dot Trousers

Sometimes a girl just needs to wear satin polka dot trousers, a cocoa ruffled blouse, cat-eye sunglasses, and classic bowed Ferragamos. I felt so classic, elegant, and feminine in this work look. I bought these trousers when I moved to New York a few years ago, and I love their menswear-vibe. The polka dots are subtle and fun, while being unexpected and different. I love the ruffle on this blouse (it can be tied at the neck, too), and the billowy sleeves. I have always wanted to rock a pair of cat-eye sunglasses…I felt very Audrey Hepburn in this pair I bought from a street vendor in New York! I also recently purchased this long gold chain necklace a few weeks ago and I have worn it almost everyday. It is delicate and dainty and goes with pretty much anything. I got the silver bracelet in Thailand, and the gold cheetah ring was a graduation present from college- and it is so fierce (no pun intended). The gold-detailed grosgrain bow Ferragamos are a classic closet staple- they are elegant and the heel is low enough that I can wear them all day.

The satin polka dot trousers are a statement piece. Would you consider wearing “statement” pants?

Belted Dress

The days are getting longer, and the sun is shining a little brighter these days. Warm weather fashion is my favorite. I bought this dress back in college for my graduation weekend (5 years ago!) so I thought the timing was appropriate to wear it again for a blog post. It goes to show you, classic styles stick around. I love the speckled white and orange print, the feminine front ruffling, and the white wicker belt. I paired this dress with classic white slingbacks. They are very comfortable, and great for spring. This look almost feels Parisian-chic to me- maybe it’s the balcony!

Secret Garden

Last weekend I headed home to Chicago to visit my adorable baby niece, Claire. It was still a little bit chilly, but some of the flowers had started blooming. These bougainvilleas always make me smile and remind me of Thailand.I recently ordered this Cynthia Steffe marigold tiered frock online and I absolutely love it for spring. I went for a whimsical, Alice-in-Wonderland themed shoot. I paired the dress with a giant white grosgrain bow and some vintage strappy white slingbacks. I love the fuschia and marigold together.

Big thank you to my amazing Mom for taking these blog pics!!!
